I’m Théotime, a thirty-something engineer currently living in Paris after spending my early career in New York City. I’m originally from Normandy and proud of it. I work as a Principal Engineer at Back Market.
My passions run wide — creativity, history, software engineering, infrastructure, historiography, art, minimalism, and a slight touch of geopolitics. You’ll find all of that woven through this blog.
I founded Staff42, a French-speaking community for staff engineers. It’s a space to share hard-won lessons, talk about the craft of engineering leadership, and build connections across the Francophone tech world.
I have a cat named Ernest. He has opinions about my code.
I love music — it’s the soundtrack to my thinking and the fastest way to shift perspective.
You can find me as Théotime Lévêque. I’ve given talks at various conferences, most of which are findable on YouTube — covering topics from distributed systems to engineering culture.
This blog, Innerspace, is my personal corner — thoughts, deep dives, and explorations in three languages. French is my native tongue, I’m more or less bilingual in English, and I’m learning Chinese intensively. Writing here is part of the practice.
